Tank for Teddy’ Bridgewater talk grows after Trent Richardson trade

Sep 7, 2013; Louisville, KY, USA; Louisville Cardinals quarterback Teddy Bridgewater (5) looks to pass against the Eastern Kentucky Colonels during the second half of play at Papa John

The Cleveland Browns made a shocking move yesterday by not only trading away their best player and former No .3 overall pick in Trent Richardson, but they essentially conceded to a lost season after just two weeks, and are now poised to once again be drafting near or at the top of the next NFL Draft.

Now, along with Jacksonville Jaguars fans, Browns supporters are ready to go all-out to get the No. 1 overall pick, and most people have a player in mind when looking at who could be the first selection in next May’s draft:

It’s “Tank for Teddy” time, or in case of the Browns’ Dawg Pound, “Play Dead for Ted.” Jacksonville Jaguars fans have also started the “Get Slaughtered for Bridgewater” movement on Twitter.

Bridgewater had a so-so day against the Kentucky Wildcats this weekend, completing just 16/28 passes for 250 yards for one touchdown and no picks. His Heisman stock may have taken a hit, his likelihood of being the No. 1 overall pick in next May’s NFL Draft continued to improve, as no other player in the nation has shown they are worthy of being the top pick over him.
