Texas A&M Aggies freshman wide receiver Ricky Seals-Jones got off to a fantastic start. In the Aggies’ season opening 52-31 victory over the Rice Owls, Seals-Jones had three receptions for 84 yards and and a touchdown.
However, he injured his knee in that game and has barely seen the field since.
“He was in there a little bit (against Alabama), but his knee is kind of bothering him, and we’re going to do what’s best for him,” Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin said. “He’s injured and he tried to go a little bit on Saturday and it’s still not right. So we’re looking at it from a medical standpoint … he’s either going to play up to a certain point in time, which is now, or he gets a medical redshirt.”
According to Seals-Jones’ twitter, surgery appears to be the choice.
