For his performance in Alabama’s 49-42 win against host Texas A&M in Week 3, Crimson Tide quarterback A.J. McCarron was named the Maxwell Award Player of the Week.
McCarron was 20 of 29 for a career-high 394 yards and four touchdowns in a game that will go down as one of the best wins in Alabama program history.
The 6-foot-4, 214-pound senior has a career record of 27-2 and looks to improve that mark in Week 4, as Alabama (2-0) hosts Colorado State (1-2) at 7 p.m. Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium (ESPN2).
McCarron was also a Maxwell Award semi-finalist in 2012.
