A few weeks back, we here at FanSided told you about the new basketball court James Madison University would be installing.

The new court design was part of a ‘fan’ contest, which was voted on by university officials. Below is the winning design, which, well, yeah.

Now, don’t get me wrong – in person (well, at least looking at it installed in picture form) it does look better than the original mockup design which looked like a cut and pasted photoshop. It still comes across as quite abrasive though, considering over 50% of the court is covered in logo.

I’m all for a fancy court design, but this just looks, well, not my taste.

Per DC Sports Bog:

By now you’ve surely seen at least the mock-up photos of the school’s new basketball court design. Well, on Thursday, the athletic department sent out photos of the real thing, along with several video clips showing the making of the court. It’s every bit as subtle and understated as the mock-ups suggested.

This wasn’t in the release, but I’m pretty sure if you scratch real hard at those giant graphics, you can actually release some scent of Duke Dog. Smells like winning. Or possibly sweaty fur.

And here’s a time lapse of the construction/installation:
