Wisconsin Badgers pre-game speech shown live in stadium (Video)

In an interesting decision, the Wisconsin Badgers have decided to air head coach Gary Anderson’s pre-game locker room speech live on the big screen at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison. This information is coming courtesy of Jeannine Edwards via twitter.

I am a big fan of the pre-game video packages that are put together for the sole purpose of firing a crowd up. In order to have the perfect video you ideally want a great background track (Eminem’s 8 mile will always be my favorite), highlights of a recent win against your opponent for the day (just for the psychological factor), big hits and clutch plays from your team, and if you can, a famous actor or alumni to overlay the perfect speech (think Morgan Freeman or Jeremy Piven)( yes Piven, you tube him, I’ll wait…). When this montage comes together the effect can be magical and can send a crowd into a frenzy ready to take on even the staunchest of opponents.

This brings us to Gary Anderson. I searched the internet to find a pre-game speech that Anderson has given and I came across this gem from his time at Utah State in 2011

I must say, it wasn’t too bad. He probably wasn’t aware of the camera being there either. If he has some time to prepare we might be getting some speeches on par with Al Pacino’s inches speech. I am interested to see if this becomes popular amongst other schools as well.
