The Georgia Bulldogs are cruising so far against the the University of North Texas. Early in the second quarter with a relatively small 7-0 lead, Georgia was pinned against their own goal line. Normally this situation calls for run plays so that they don’t risk turnovers close to the end zone or safeties amongst other things.
Knowing that North Texas might be expecting a run play they called a play action pass. Wide receiver Reggie Davis got past his defender caught the pass around their own 40 before rumbling to the other end zone for the easy score. After he catches it there isn’t anyone even in the frame with him, his defender made a desperate dive to disrupt the pass and missed horribly.
So far it is Davis’ only catch of the game and Aaron Murray’s only touchdown pass. North Texas managed to score on the next drive, marching 86 yards down the field to bring the score to 14-7.
