Saturday’s game against the Tennessee Volunteers may have ended with the result the Florida Gators had hoped for, but the injuries that piled up throughout the game have delivered a potentially devastating blow to the team moving forward.
Starting quarterback Jeff Driskel suffered a right ankle injury in the first quarter of the game, and it looks like the injury will keep him on the sidelines for the remainder of the season.
From Tracy Wolfson of CBS Sports:
Muschamp telling me Jeff Driskel out for the season and will need surgery in that right ankle. #florida

The good news for the Gators and their fans is that Tyler Murphy looked sharp when he entered the game. Murphy finished the game with 218 total yards and two touchdowns — one on the ground and one through the air.
Florida will cap off the first month of the season next weekend against Kentucky as they aim to score their third win of 2013.
