Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade has lost ‘significant amount of weight’

The last few seasons have been a challenge for Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade, at least from a health standpoint.

Wade has arthritic knees, which continue to limit him and there’s even been talk that the Heat may hold out the former Marquette star on back-to-back games.

That’s a bit on the excessive side, but they are planning to monitor his minutes closely for the upcoming season.

In addition, the Heat also challenged Wade to lose some weight, hoping that a few less pounds on the knees would help relieve some of the pressure. Wade obliged, at least according to Brian Windhorst, who says ‘Three’ (I can’t believe he wants that as a nickname) is looking like a shell of his former self:

Based on photos Dwyane Wade has been posting lately, it appears he has dropped significant weight as he said was his summer plan.

I’m not sure there was a ton of weight for Wade to lose, but I imagine less pressure on the knees will help considerably.
