The San Francisco 49ers came out yesterday and say they are committed to reestablishing their running game, a running game that ranked in the top five last season.

They’re hoping tight end Vernon Davis will be on the field to assist.

Not only a premier pass catching tight end, Davis is a highly regarded run blocking tight end and appears to be questionable for their Week Three contest against the Indianapolis Colts.

Per the Sacramento Bee:

"Vernon Davis, who suffered a left hamstring strain late in Sunday’s loss to Seattle, was the only 49er who did not practice Friday. He is listed as questionable on the team’s injury report. The 49ers tight end said he was able to run on a side field while the rest of the team practiced Friday. “I’m feeling pretty good, sore, bruised up, but that comes with the business, comes with the game,” he said. ” Definitely my focus is on this game. .. We shall see when Sunday comes.”"

Not exactly brimming with confidence, though, it would take a pretty big setback for Davis to not see the field this weekend.
