Manchester United and Manchester City are a huge rivalry. This past Sunday, City got the better of United in the Derby match up with a 4-1 win. Some man, who is a Man United fan found himself smitten with a Man City fan and the two were wed recently.
Nevertheless, when two families are joining there tends to be family banter about rivalries and less of the usual verbal barbs. The man takes up the microphone and stands up to give his wedding toast.
He starts off talking about how difficult it has been for him the past few months.
“I’ve lost one of the two constants in my lifetime,” the groom says. “It’s been very hard. A strong fella who had such influence on me, and suddenly he is no longer with me.”
We’re assuming he is talking about a deceased family member (who he later identifies as Kenny) that he was close too. Instead he asks the Man City family to stand up and raise their glasses to toast, but instead it is former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
