Virginia Tech CB Antone Exum May Return to Team as Early as Next Week

Following their opening-weekend loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Virginia Tech Hokies have rattled off three straight victories and are off to a 3-1 start. Although the offense is quite stagnant–to say the least–the defense hasn’t been all that bad. They showed flashes of stability and effectiveness against the aforementioned no. 1 team in the nation and have been rather consistent since. They rank fifth nationally in total defense and sixth in pass efficiency defense.

And, they’re doing all of this without their most effective pass defender who, according to reports, may be returning very shortly to give this defensive unit even more of a boost.

After suffering an ACL injury following a game of pickup basketball this past January, CB Antone Exum will be visiting the ever-famous Dr. James Andrews soon and may ultimately be ready to join his teammates, according to Norm Wood of the Daily Press in Newport News, VA.:

Exum led the team last season with five interceptions and is considered to be a top NFL Draft prospect at the corner position.
