San Francisco as a team ran for 115 yards in their 27-7 loss to Indianapolis at Candlestick Park on Sunday, and mustered just 254 yards of total offense.  Running back Frank Gore had his most productive performance of the year on the ground, gaining 82 yards on 11 carries.  But, the All Pro back — that gained over 1,200 yards the last two seasons – was understandably frustrated after the 49ers’ second straight drubbing at the hands of a quality opponent.  He has carried the ball only 20 times during those games.

Earlier today, Gore clarified his frustration and anger with CSN Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco, saying he didn’t blame the coaches and just wants to win.

“I’m cool with Harbaugh,” Gore said. “That’s not me, anyway. That’s not me. I’m good.”

“I just wanted to win. I wasn’t thinking about how many times I touched the ball. I just wanted to win. Get that nasty taste out of our mouth. That’s what I was thinking about.”

“Coach G-Ro called the plays,” Gore said, referring to offensive coordinator Greg Roman. “Whatever he called, we’re going to try to make it work. And I wasn’t thinking about how many times I was touching the ball. I just wanted to get a W, that’s all.

”We just got to do whatever it takes to win. That’s what we’re about. If it’s running, let’s run. If it’s throwing, it’s throwing. It’s whatever it takes.”

The 49ers better figure it out quickly as they travel to division rival St. Louis on Thursday – a team that they failed to defeat in two meetings in 2012.
