Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Bret Bielema was obviously disappointed with his team blowing a 17-point lead against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights over the weekend, but he doesn’t want his team to dwell on the missed opportunity. Bielema spoke on Monday about the heartbreaking loss, saying that he hopes it’ll inspire his players to play batter in their next game (against Texas A&M).
I think sometimes in my head coaching career some of the biggest, disappointing losses, heart aches, propel you to something better in the future. That’s hopefully what we’re going to be able to build upon.
The great thing about Saturday’s loss is there’s things that can be easily corrected. There wasn’t anything out there that is a daunting task that can’t be overcome. On the flip side of it, we still lost the game and they need to learn from that. They needed to feel the pain (Arkansas News).
Arkansas, who went into the game against Rutgers sporting one of the best running offenses in the nation, was absolutely shut down on the ground versus the Scarlet Knights. They’ll have an opportunity to redeem themselves against a Texas A&M defense ranked 106th in the nation when it comes to stopping the run. The game will be shown at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
