This season has been a disappointing one for not only the White Sox but for their fans as well.

It’s pretty obvious that players can’t play the game they love forever, eventually they end up having to call it quits. This could very well be the case for veteran first baseman Paul Konerko. Now this is a little weird to write considering I’m a Chicago Cubs fan, but Konerko has been a player I always enjoyed watched play.

This man has a lot of respect from me even though he fights for the dark side. The 37 year old vet would be entering his 17th season in the league if he were to choose to keep playing, but would the Chicago White Sox keep him?

His age is slowly starting to catch up with him as his production has dropped a bit. In his last nine seasons he’s hit over 20+ home runs while reaching 40+ twice. This year he’s only hit 11 long balls with a 15 year low 53 RBI’s but lowered his strike outs from 83 last season to 69 this season through 121 games played.

According to Bruce Levine of ESPN Chicago, Konerko should address his future sometime this week.

Now if he doesn’t retire, should the Chicago White Sox bring him back or let him walk away? What do you think White Sox fans?
