Major League Baseball Spotlight Game: New York Mets @ Cincinnati Reds

For the Cincinnati Reds, after last night’s win, and the St Louis Cardinals victory over the Washington Nationals, the Reds clinched a playoff spot for the third time in four years. For the New York Mets, after a struggle at times this year, a third place finish is possible for them and gives them something to play for.

Mike Leake gets the ball for the Reds. Leake went eight shutout innings last Tuesday against the Astros in the Reds victory.  Leake pitched against the Mets earlier this season at Citi Field. Leake went seven strong innings against them in the Reds 4-0 win.  Jon Niese was a hard luck loser last time against the San Francisco Giants and Madison Bumgarner, going seven innings and allowing two runs.
