Phil Jackson says he supports Shaquille O’Neal in ownership of Sacramento Kings

At one point and time not that long ago (okay, it’s been a decade, so it’s been a while) Shaquille O’Neal and Phil Jackson were hated men in Sacramento.

But after Shaq purchased a minority stake in the Kings franchise earlier this week, feelings have been mended and fans are accepting of O’Neal as part owner.

The same probably can’t be said for the vilified Jackson, who King fans still can’t stand, though the 13-time NBA Champion did suggest that he’s happy for O’Neal and supports his decision to get into ownership:

@Shaq Good deal! You did call them the Sac Queens in 01, but all is forgiven. btw, saw Sac ran cows thru Main St-designating “Cow Town”.

Please insist that my moniker for Sac back in ‘01 was a premonition on things to come. Good luck with your kissin’ cousin-fun da mentals.

@LuckyLefty33 sorry, was it J Street or K? btw…I’m supporting @Shaq on his ownership endeavor-love how things change.

Jackson couldn’t not fire a small shot at Sacramento in his tweet, though, he does appear genuinely happy for O’Neal.

A bit ironic how it’s all played out for the Kings, considering their addition of O’Neal to the ownership group as it was Jackson who was set to take over in the Kings’ front office had they moved to Seattle.
