The St. Louis Rams are coming off of one of their worst losses since Jeff Fisher took over as head coach and getting back in the win column will be no easy task. St. Louis faces the division rival San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football to kick off Week Four of the 2013-14 NFL regular season, and Fisher says that the team will be looking for a “defining moment” in the game.

“This is a defining moment for us right now,” Fisher said, via St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “We’ve got to get past this and get ready for the 49ers.”

It won’t be easy for the Rams, however, because they will be facing a short week.

The good news is that Fisher doesn’t believe that the short week will hurt the team’s preparation for the game.

“Oh, they’ll be fine,” Fisher said. “I’m not concerned about them putting this behind them, moving forward. All you have to do is put on a series here or a series there of our matchup last year in one of the two games against the 49ers and we’ll have their attention.”

Last season, the Rams did not suffer a defeat against the 49ers, so it is very possible that they will get the moment Fisher is looking for.

In the two match ups last season, St. Louis came away with a tie and an overtime win. They will be looking to repeat that success when they face off in prime time on the NFL Network.
