Louis Oosthuizen comes back to work this week at The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland after an extensive layoff for physical problems that have plagues him all season. The 2010 Open Champion walked off the golf course at Muirfield back in July and hasn’t played since. The popular South African is testing his game, and body this week ahead of the Presidents Cup which gets underway next week.

Oosthuizen, in an interview at EuropeanTour.com says he rested, and ready to get back on the golf course. I am leaving a link to the interview video for your convience. [ Louis Oosthuizen Interview ]. The 31 year-old from Mossel Bay South Africa, but makes his home West Palm Beach sounds good in the interview, and looks to be ready to get back to work.

After the President’s Cup, Oosthuizen will get ready for the Race To Dubai playoffs which get started next month in Shanghai. They have a four tournament playoff like the FedEx Cup that culminates at the DP World Tours Championship, Dubai in December. He is currently in 37th position, and well within the top 60 spots needed to qualify.

During his rehab, Louis Oosthuizen has fallen to 28th spot in the Official World Golf Rankings(OWGR). He is very talented, and has one of the sweetest golf swings on the either tour. His last win on the European Tour was at the Volvo Golf Championship back in January on the Sunshine Tour. He has six wins on the European Tour.

His record on the PGA Tour in 2013 reflected his medical issues, and he was only able to manage six cuts in twelve outings. He finished 154th on the FedEx Cup points list, well out of contention for the PGA playoffs. His best finish on the PGA Tour this season was a T 10 at the Shell Houston Open.

I look forward to seeing him play next week at Muirfield Village. He will undoubetly be paired with his buddy, Charl Schwartzel on Captain Nick Price’s team when action get underway next Friday.
