Brendan Rodgers says Liverpool game won’t test Luis Suarez’s temperament

If Liverpool decides to play Luis Suarez against Manchester United on Wednesday it will be the first action he has seen since being suspended for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic last season.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has suggested that he could inject the forward into the line up in the Capital One Cup match up. Some have suggested such a chippy game between between rivals could test his temper. Last time these two clubs met things got testy and Steven Gerrard and Robin van Persie even got into it.

From ESPN FC:

“I don’t think so. I think that [test] will come over time. It won’t be a one-off game. Of course this will be a great game if he is picked in the team.

“He will just be happy to pull on the shirt for real. It doesn’t matter where that would be, whether it was Old Trafford or another stadium. I think we will see the lessons learned and that maturity over time.”

If you’re a casual soccer fan this is a must watch game between two bitter rivals. Manchester United is looking to get some revenge from their loss at Anfield with a win, and they’re fresh of a 4-1 derby loss to Manchester City.

Liverpool is still trying to prove they’re worthy of being atop the table in the English Premier League.
