There’s likely no team in the league with more riding on recovering injuries than the Los Angeles Lakers.
Not only do they have Kobe Bryant dealing with his devastating Achilles’ injury nor aging Steve Nash and his variety of ailments, but they also have Pau Gasol who has been dealing with troublesome knees for quite a while.
In all, the Lakers’ three best players are all returning from some type of relatively serious injury, though, all are reportedly looking good in their recovery. In fact, Pau Gasol is looking so good that Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak believes Gasol will put up an ‘All-Star’ level game this season, assuming he stays healthy:
Kupchak on Pau Gasol: “If he’s healthy, he’s going to be an All-Star player”
With Nash not really being much of the scoring type and the departure of Metta World Peace, there’s going to be plenty of shots available for Gasol who should thrive (at least statistically) for the Lakers this coming season.
