When you’re a program with the notoriety of the USC Trojans, and you’re having a down season, you’re going to open yourself to scrutiny from all walks of human beings. You’re dead center in the middle of Hollywood, for crying out loud.
And that’s exactly what’s happened so far given the dismal start Lane Kiffin and the Trojans have had. If you haven’t, in the last four weeks or so, made a joke directed toward the Trojans, Lane Kiffin or both, then I legitimately have to assume that you’re lying. We’re all guilty of it.
But as good as some of our subtle jabs may be, some seem to resonate a bit more when they come from someone famous. It kind of adds to the hilarity of it all.
And in this case, what could be more perfect than one of the most recognizable directors in Hollywood history poking fun at the team set in Hollywood?:
Steven Spielberg was at #USC today. He was asked his favorite disaster movie and said, “The Washington State game.”

Yes, that was the sound of Steven Spielberg dropping the microphone that you heard.
