Ticket pre-sales for the most anticipated UFC event of all time begin today, September 25. The event is UFC 168, which is headlined by a championship double-header with two rematches that the fans of mixed martial arts have been dying to see.
The top billing on the card goes to the middleweight title bout between champ Chris Wediman and Anderson Silva, who will not walk out last for the first time since his second fight in the UFC against Rich Ranklin back in 2007. Silva is looking to avenge the loss in spectacular fashion, while Weidman believes he can repeat his success.
In the co-main event, women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey defends her belt against heated rival and fellow TUF 18 coach Miesha Tate.
In advance of today’s ticket sales, the official event poster was unveiled:
UFC president Dana White expects this to be the biggest show in the promotion’s history saying, “I think it’s going to be the biggest fight we’ve ever done. Bigger than UFC 100. On every level. Tickets, pay-per-views, everything. You’re going to see a motivated Anderson, but what makes this so much fun is, what Anderson are you going to see? How is this thing going to go? That’s such a big part of the fun.”
“Just think about this. If you put it in your head, the f—— music goes off, the lights go down, the walk-in music starts, when they go down on Dec. 28, how f—— crazy is that going to be? How insane is that going to be when they start walking in?”
If the fights live up to expectations, which there is no reason to believe they won’t, then this is going to be an epic event that you will not want to miss.
