This Sunday is going to be a battle of first place between the undefeated Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions.

Right now Chicago is sitting pretty early on in the division with the Packers being 1-2. I know it’s early, but this Chicago Bears team is looking like they’ll remain a threat in this league. All this team needs is for these veteran players on the roster to stay healthy.

Charles “Peanut” Tillman is one of those guys who needs to remain healthy. Tillman is currently less than 100 percent and has shown that he’s been bothered with injuries in the first three games of the season. He’s currently in a contract year with the team and may be playing his final season in the league.

Tillman is going to be needed on Sunday as he shadows Calvin Johnson better than any other defensive back on this Chicago defense. Head coach Marc Trestman is optimistic about Tillman playing on Sunday according to Brad Briggs on Twitter, but could play despite his discomfort.

He’s been battling problems with his groin and knee but I’m not sure if those two injuries will stop this man. Tillman is one of the toughest corners this Chicago Bears defense has seen in a long time and is definitely the corner-stone for this defensive backs group.

Either way, healthy or not this match up with Johnson scares me a little bit. Not sure how well he’ll be able to cover him with a groin injury let alone a knee injury. Another must win game for this Chicago Bears team.
