The season that Chris Davis is having this season has really thrown me off. I had no idea this guy was capable of hitting 50+ home runs and 130+ RBI’s in a season considering his previous career high in both were 33 and 85.
The guy has slowly developed into one of the best left handed hitters in the game and he’s only five years into the league. That means he still has more room to grow as a player, which is pretty scary when you think about it.
This season Davis has 52 home runs and 137 RBI’s on a batting line of .285/.368/.631 through 157 games. Davis sat out last nights game against the Toronto Blue Jays due to a right foot injury but is back in the lineup for tonight’s opening series against the Boston Red Sox in Baltimore.
Baltimore is heading into it’s final series of the season, so Davis will have a couple of games to pad onto those stats as he is in a neck and neck race with Miguel Cabrera for American League MVP honors.
