Matthew Stafford, QB, Detroit Lions

The Chicago Bears are going to have fewer issues containing Stafford than the Washington Redskins, who still did a pretty good job last week considering their lack of talent. Stafford will turn the ball over and otherwise be inefficient against this tough opponent.

Chris Johnson, RB, Tennessee Titans

There are teams and situations where Johnson still needs to be started, but if you have any better options, you should pass on him this week. He’s facing a stout New York Jets’ run defense which has been one of the tougher units to gain yards against even for talented runners. You can do better than CJ.

Mike Williams, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

He might not play due to injury, but even if he does, you should avoid him for three reasons. First, he might be without his more talented WR partner Vincent Jackson, which hurts him more than it helps him. Second, he’s battling a nagging injury which is holding him back. Third, Mike Glennon will be his quarterback. No thanks.

Coby Fleener, TE, Indianapolis Colts

You probably think that a game against the Jaguars is a perfect time to start Fleener. But the Colts will likely get out to a lead and run the football, and even when they’re passing there are a handful of players who are targeted by Andrew Luck ahead of his former college tight end.

Denver Broncos Running Backs

John Fox has never been able to make up his mind with running backs, but it’s out of hand in Denver these days. The players are deciding who will score a touchdown with Rock, Paper, Scissors. Someone is going to score, and I can almost guarantee it’s not the guy you’re going to start. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere if you have any other reasonable options.
