Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry leaves Nike, signs with Under Armour

Did you enjoy those hilarious commercials featuring James Harden and Stephen Curry in a recording studio that debuted earlier this offseason? I sure hope so because there won’t be anymore, at least not featuring Curry.

The Golden State Warriors’ point guard has decided to leave Nike and sign with rival Under Armour, this according to Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski:

Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry has left Nike to become the centerpiece endorser for Under Armour, sources told Yahoo Sports.

The partnership is expected to be formally announced next week, sources said.

Under Armour has slowly been progressing its way into the NBA by signing players like Brandon Jennings and DeAndre Jordan to deals, but they’ve yet to sign a player of Curry’s caliber.

Curry has become one of the most recognizable players in the league over the past few years, though his 2012-13 season took him to a new level.

There’s no word on the contractual figures, though considering Curry is expected to be the face of the company (at least from a basketball perspective), I’m sure it’s quite lucrative – especially to leave Nike.

Curry also recently signed an endorsement deal with MoGo Sport, a flavored mouthguard company.
