The South Carolina Gamecocks are getting all they can handle from the University of Central Florida Knights. UCF scored a touchdown on their first possession of the ball game and have tacked on another field goal in the second quarter for a 10-0 lead.

South Carolina’s starting quarterback Conner Shaw has exited the game due to an injury to his right shoulder. He will not return. Backup Dylan Thompson has filled in admirably but the Steve Spurrier led team continues to make too many mistakes.

Thompson had a receiver streaking down the field but slightly underthrew him and the receiver was unable to hold on to the ball. A couple of plays later a bad snap on a punt resulted in a UCF lineman catching a horrible punt and running for 9 yards.

Jadeveon Clowney has been very quiet on the afternoon recording only 1 tackle and rarely being involved in the play. UCF has consistently chipped him and kept him out of the backfield.

As the half wound to an end the Gamecocks had an opportunity to put some points on the board as they drove the ball down to the UCF 35 yard line but more penalties and mental mistakes pushed South Carolina out of field goal range and they were forced to head to halftime down 10 points.
