The Florida State Seminoles may have gotten a little more than they bargained for on Saturday afternoon as they took on the Eagles of Boston College.
BC jumped out to an early 14-3 lead in the first quarter before the Seminoles finally got their sea legs under them. Jameis Winston strengthened his early season campaign for a Heisman trophy nomination by throwing for 330 yards and 4 touchdowns and rushing for 67 additional yards.
If every Heisman Trophy candidate needs a signature moment, Winston might have found his on Saturday. In a 17-17 game Winston barely had time to get one more play off before the half. After shedding 2 tackler’s and rolling back to his right he threw a 60 yard bomb that Kenny Shaw hauled in for a touchdown. Look for yourself.
Florida State improved their record to 4-0 on the season and is looking to improve on their No. 8 ranking after this weekend. It may not have been the blowout that Seminole fans were hoping for but FSU showed a lot of heart in the win and that is something that may help them even more in the long run.
