Reports are coming out of Los Angeles that the Dodgers have scratched Matt Kemp from the lineup tonight due to left ankle soreness.
Matt Kemp was scratched due to left ankle soreness. #Dodgers calling it “precautionary.” Uh — yeah.

This is horrible news for the Dodgers as Kemp has spent more time rehabbing injuries than he has playing baseball this season. Entering the season many viewed Kemp as a possible MVP candidate. For all of Kemp’s skills (and they are many) he has not been able to stay healthy for long stretches.
The Dodgers are preparing for the postseason for the first time since 2009 and while they have still managed to win the National League West without Kemp’s services, they were really looking forward to getting him acclimated over the final couple of weeks to the season and utilizing his bat and speed for the playoffs.
