As we speak, the LSU Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs are engaged in quite an epic battle.
Both nationally ranked teams have a lot to gain, even more to lose in today’s contest, though, the stress clearly hasn’t gotten to one of LSU’s kick returners, Odell Beckham.
After the Bulldogs took a 17-14 lead in the second quarter, Georgia kicked off, nearly booting it out of the end zone. That lead Beckham to the back line where he promptly decided to lunge out, one handed and catch the ball, doing a reverse windmill in the process.
Sound awesome? It was.
Of course, there wasn’t a ton to lose considering the momentum of the ball would have likely carried it out of bounds had it bounced off of him, or even more likely, continued on its way out of bounds had he whiffed. But he didn’t – he snagged that like an outfielder going over a wall, then brought it back with the reverse windmill.
Best fair catch ever? Has to be.
Even more impressive? It’s not the first time he’d done that, though his previous attempt wasn’t as butter smooth.
