The South Carolina Gamecocks have a bit of an interesting out-of-conference road test today when they travel to play the Central Florida Golden Knights. The Knights are a team that already has a huge win under their belt this season when they went to Happy Valley two weeks ago and took down the Penn State Nittany Lions.
You might not be able to put the Gamecocks on complete upset alert today, but it’s certainly shaping up to be no easy task. But what makes today even more difficult is that they will have to fend off the Knights without their top receiving target.
Wide receiver Shaq Roland is out for today’s game against UCF after he violated an unspecified team rule. Roland did not travel with the team.
Roland leads the team this year in receiving yardage with 161 and third in receptions with eight. Sophomore Damiere Byrd is listed on the depth chart as Roland’s backup, although we could see a healthy rotation of other replacements throughout the game.
