Morris left this past Saturday’s game vs Savanna State in the first-quarter with what looked like a serious right ankle injury, but after the game, it was revealed to be just a sprain.
Fortunately for South Florida, he was ready to go for today’s noon game in Tampa against the struggling Bulls that are 0-3 and allowed 53 points to the likes of McNeese State, and Morris just threw a beauty of a touchdown to wide receiver Stacey Coley that looked every bit like the kind of throw he’ll be making in the NFL next year:
Prior to exiting last week, Morris was 3/4 for 82 yards including an 80-yard touchdown pass to Allen Hurns before exiting.
Morris entered the 2013 college football season as one of the top QBs in the nation, as well as a potential first-round NFL Draft pick. This, after throwing for career-best 3,345 yards and 21 touchdowns, while completing 58.2 percent of passes (245/421) last season.
