Washington Wizards John Wall says missing playoffs is a waste of time

Some people think that if you miss the playoffs but aren’t poor enough to secure a top pick in the upcoming draft, you’ve all but wasted your time.

That’s apparently how Washington Wizards point guard John Wall thinks as he recently told CSN Washington that if the Wizards don’t make the postseason, it was a season of waste:

“If I don’t make the playoffs, it’s a waste of time.”

And on his newly minted, maximum contract?

“That’s nothing if you’re not making the playoffs.”

In just about every interview Wall has done this offseason, he’s made it a point of emphasis to speak about the playoffs so he appears dead set on getting the Wizards franchise playing into May.

The Wizards were a near .500 team last season with Wall in the lineup and one of the worst in the league without him, so it should be interesting to see what another year of growth (and a somewhat improved roster) can bring to the Wizards franchise, especially with Wall so determined.
