Fresh off of his release from the UFC, top ten middleweight Yushin Okami is already drawing some interest. Saturday morning on Twitter, World Series of Fighting president Ray Sefo answered a fan comment and said that the promotion was “in talks” with the Japanese mixed martial artist.

Adding a fighter of Okami’s caliber would be huge for the UFC and provide some legitimacy to the promotion’s 185-pound division, which currently includes the likes of David Branch, Elvis Mutapcic, Jesse Taylor and Danillo Villefort.
Immediately after Okami’s release, World Series of Fighting matchmaker Ali Abdel-Aziz also reached out to the fighter by saying, “You have a home at [WSOF].”
If Okami is looking for a place to go where he can rack up some wins and get back in the UFC, WSOF could be the place to go. The only question is whether or not they would be able to schedule him enough fights in a timely manner to get him on track to a return to the top.
