FSU QB Jameis Winston takes home another ACC award

The legend of Florida State Seminoles redshirt freshman continues to grow.

In 48-34 come from behind victory over the Boston College Eagles Saturday, the Bessemer, Alabama native completed 17 of 27 passes for 330 yards with four touchdowns and an interception. He also rushed for 67 yards on 14 carries. That performance earned praise from the Atlanta Coast Conference. The ACC awarded Winston with the conference’s Offensive Back of the Week award for the first time in his career. Winston has twice been named the conference’s Rookie of the Week.

Winston’s performance by a 55-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Kenny Shaw on the last play of the first half. Winston avoided two tackles before launching the ball down field to Shaw.

On the season, Winston is 67-of-91 for 1,048 yards with 12 touchdowns and two interceptions. He’s also rushed for two touchdowns.

Winston wasn’t the only Seminole to take home an award this week. Senior linebacker Telvin Smith was named the Linebacker of the Week after making 10 tackles, including two for a loss in the Seminoles’ victory.
