Rex Ryan says New York Jets have not thought about benching Geno Smith

The 2013 season has not started off overly promising for the New York Jets.
After the questionable Mark Sanchez decision in the preseason, the Jets have stumbled their way to a 2-2 record, however, they’ve been outscored in those four contests by twenty points.
Among the chief contributors to the questionable play is rookie quarterback Geno Smith, who understandably has had his struggles considering he is a rookie who has been thrown into the fire.
Still – in New York – it’s about wins, not patience and some have already worn thin on Smith’s youthful mistakes. That’s not that thought process of the New York Jets though as head coach Rex Ryan said the notion of benching Smith hasn’t entered their minds:
"@BrianCoz: Rex on possibly benching Geno: “It’s not a thought at this point.” #nyj"
Of course, the door was left wide open there at the end considering he added ‘at this point’, but it’s not as if the Jets have a ton of internal options (Matt Simms, Brady Quinn) either. Smith may stick at starter by default.
