T.J. Weist named UConn Huskies interim head coach

The UConn Huskies dismissed Paul Pasqualoni today after a 41-12 loss to Buffalo on Saturday, leading to an 0-4 start for the Hukskies.

The school held a press conference at 4 p.m. to announce the Pasqualoni firing and name offensive coordinator T.J. Weist the interim coach. Associate head coach and offensive line coach George DeLeone was been fired as well.

The 0-4 start was the program’s first since 1991, when UConn participated on the FCS level, and the offense is bad enough to make on’e eyes bleed, as they rank 121st in the FBS in total offense, 109th in scoring and 109th in interceptions thrown.

Weist, a coach with over 25 years of experience and most recently served as the wide receivers coach at Cincinnati, is in his first season as the offensive coordinator in 2013. He was also the Bearcats recruiting coordinator for the past year.
