The Texas Rangers and the Tampa Bay Rays are headed to a one game, win-or-go-home contest. The winner of the game gets into the playoffs and places the Cleveland Indians in the one-game Wild Card round.

The Rangers aren’t strangers to the win-or-go-home game. They slipped to the point of almost being ruled out of playoff contention. The Rangers won 7 straight games to keep their playoff hopes alive after starting the month 5-15. Two of those 5 wins came against the Tampa Bay Rays, in Florida.

Date: Monday, September 30
Start Time: 8:07 p.m. ET
Location: Arlington, Texas
Venue: Rangers Ballpark in Arlington
TV Info: TBS
Live Stream: MLB.tv and the MLB At Bat 12 app

The Rays will send David Price (9-8) to the mound against the Rangers’ Martin Perez (10-5).

“We’re just going to play Texas Rangers baseball tomorrow. Perez will get the start. We have a lot of confidence in him,” manager Ron Washington said.

The Rangers activated slugger Nelson Cruz, who was suspended 50 games for his connection to the Biogenesis clinic. He has served his suspension and is eligible to return.

“Nelson Cruz will be active tomorrow. [Manager Ron Washington] will decide if he’s in the lineup.” general manager Jon Daniels said.

Cruz is ready and willing to play as well and said: “I want to play. I want to be apart of this team & win a championship.”
