The college football season is barely a month old, but a pair of head coaches at BCS programs have been relieved of their duties already.
The USC Trojans fired embattled Head coach Lane Kiffin this weekend after an embarrassing 61-42 loss to Arizona State. Taking over in the interim will be recruiting coordinator/defensive line coach Ed Orgeron.
The UConn Huskies dismissed Paul Pasqualoni today after a 41-12 loss to Buffalo on Saturday, leading to an 0-4 start for the Hukskies.
The school will reportedly hold a press conference at 4 p.m. to announce the Pasqualoni firing and name an interim coach. It won’t be associate head coach and offensive line coach George DeLeone, who has been fired as well.
The 0-4 start was the program’s first since 1991, when UConn participated on the FCS level, and the offense is bad enough to make on’e eyes bleed, as they rank 121st in the FBS in total offense, 109th in scoring and 109th in interceptions thrown.
