Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Andre Ethier is unsure if he’ll be on his team’s roster when the Dodgers start their sereis against the Atlanta Braves on Thursday. Ethier, who has been dealing with an injury to his left ankle and has only one at-bat since mid-September, told reporters on Tuesday that he hopes to have a pinch-hitting role in the first game of the series.

Ethier spoke about being a pinch hitter and the status of his ankle:

"It’s probably just a hitting role; that’s what our best hope is. Who knows, maybe we wake up Saturday and Sunday and it feels good enough to go full-go. Hitting-wise it feels good enough. We’ll worry about what to do after I get on first base then. I just want to figure out a way to contribute any way I can and not become a hindrance (ESPN)."

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said he was still undecided as to if Ethier would make the roster.

The National League Division Series between the Braves and Dodgers should be an entertaining contest. Ace Clayton Kershaw will be taking the mound for the Dodgers on Thursday, while Kris Medlen will be the pitcher for the Braves.
