Week 4 in the NFL was a brutal one for many fantasy football owners with injuries starting to mount and a flood of bye weeks on the horizon.  This week the Vikings, Steelers, Buccaneers, and Redskins get the week off but brace yourself for weeks eight and nine when six teams have a bye each week.

Hopefully, you were able to avoid the injury struggles that plagued many teams and were able to keep rolling along like the Denver offense. Whether you’re prepping for bye weeks, need a positional upgrade, or looking to add the final piece to your juggernaut–there is definitely plenty of help on most leagues waiver wire.

Each Tuesday right here on Fansided.com, you can find our top 10 waiver wire pickups for the coming week. Each week, I do my best to include at least one quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and tight end as well as a team defense with a favorable matchup in case your streaming defenses or looking for a one-week fill in.

All players on the list or in the “best of the rest” are available in at least 50% of ESPN leagues as of Monday and their ownership percentages are included in parentheses. That means that some of the players on the list in the past (last week’s post available here) like Jordan Cameron, Julius Thomas, Kenbrell Thompkins, Bilal Powell, and Julian Edelman are no longer eligible to appear even though they still make good pickups if they’re available. If you’re not sure about your waiver claim and want some personalized advice, feel free to ask me on twitter @ZT_Sports or include the question in a comment at the bottom of the page. I’ll do my best to answer all your questions as quickly as possible.

All scoring references are from NFL.com’s default scoring which simply is used to give a common baseline to work from. Adjust appropriately your team and league scoring system.

Check out our top 10 for this week to get your roster the depth you’ll need going forward.

Should I start T. Pryor over Cam Newton this week?

    • Fantasy CPR

I would not. Pryor is a good play with serious upside, but Newton is a much safer play and in a matchup against the Cardinals that he should excel in. I like Pryor as a low-end QB1. Cam is a mid-level QB1 IMO. Either way, you’re in good shape. GL

I have Doug Martin who is doing ok and was my first pick of the draft. My other two running backs are Ridley and Maurice Jones Drew. Both are doing pretty bad. Are they worth keeping? they were my second and third round picks. Would it be worth picking up woodhead or ryan mathews to start over one of them?

    • Fantasy CPR

I’d hold on both MJD and Ridley. The toughest week will be this one with Martin on a bye. If your league is PPR, grab Woodhead and start him w MJD. If your league doesn’t reward receiving as heavily, grab Rashad Jennings for this one week and start with MJD. Try to avoid dropping any of those three if you can help it since they still have potential to be valuable down the road. Hope that helps. If not, feel free to follow up.

Hoping for a little help here with WRs!! I went for strong RBs and QBs in my league, due to having an Offensive Player spot in the starting lineup, which i usually start my top 2 QBs. The problem im having is with my WRs, i have James Jones, Roddy White, Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, Torrey Smith, and Kenbrell Thomkins. The lineup consists of 2 WR and a WR/TE which I use a WR in. The league is a PPR league, and the WR are almost scoring as high as the QBs!! i know Roddy white has pretty much been a decoy for a few games, im just not sure who to start most of the time, ive been basing their starts on the matchup for the week, but it has been very inconsistent (like normal i guess for fantasy!)!!! Can you help me with who to start please?? last week i started both Edelman and Thomkins, who did great. I also started Torrey Smith.
