AC Milan’s Mario Balotelli has his fair share of detractors and that number will only grow after this latest stunt. Down one goal to none on the road against Ajax Amsterdam in UEFA Champions League’s group state, Balotelli drew a foul to get a penalty kick to tie the game.

The only problem, he wasn’t fouled. He might have even committed a foul in the process.

One of Balotelli’s Milan teammates sent in a desperate cross that had no hope of making it to Balotelli who was center of the goal near the edge of the six yard box. The Ajax goal keeper jumped out and easily intercepted the cross and keeping Ajax out of harm’s way. That is when Balotelli decided to flop.

Not only did he flop, he grabbed the defender and brought him down with him to make it all the more convincing. The referee was watching the play and cross most likely and only caught the tale end of the flop and saw an Ajax player on top of Balotelli in front of the goal. Balotelli sold if further by laying face down.

The referee decided to award AC Milan the penalty and Balotelli scored to steal a draw. After scoring he celebrated with a finger over his lips in a “hush” or “silence” gesture.
