Tulane football: CB Jordan Batiste earns C-USA Defensive POW honors

According to a press release Monday, Conference USA named Jordan Batiste, sophomore cornerback on the Tulane football team, its Defensive Player of the Week for his Week 5 performance in the Green Wave’s 31-14 win against host Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday.

Batiste recorded eight tackles, six solo tackles, one sack, one interception, and one pass breakup. It was his first-career sack.

The Louisiana native has recorded 14 tackles through five games this season. He is the first Tulane football player to receive the honor since Dezman Moses (2010).

The Tulane football team (3-2, 1-0 C-USA) hosts North Texas for its home coming at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
