Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller has been listed as questionable for Buffalo’s upcoming game against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night. The former Clemson star is battling an ankle injury he suffered in Week 4.

Earlier in the week, Spiller said he wanted to play against the Browns if he could get himself to at least 80-85 percent healthy. But the fourth-year back wasn’t able to practice on Monday and Tuesday, and his involvement in Wednesday’s practice was limited. Though he’s insisted that all the signs are encouraging with regards to his recovery, it seems fairly likely he won’t be on the field Thursday night.

After gaining 1,244 yards and averaging 6.0 yards per carry in 2012, Spiller’s 2013 hasn’t gotten off to as strong of start as Buffalo fans were hoping for. Spiller is second on the team in rushing yards to Fred Jackson and is averaging 3.5 yards per carry. He also has more fumbles (3) than touchdowns (0).

The Buffalo vs. Cleveland game will being at 8:25 p.m. ET and can be seen on the NFL Network.
