It isn’t an “official” injury designation, but it looks as if Indianapolis Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw won’t be suiting up when the team squares off with the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

There had been whispers that Bradshaw would return for Week 5 after missing last week’s game with a neck injury, but Schefter’s assertion that the team won’t be allowing that to happen isn’t a shock. Since the team acquired the services of stud running back Trent Richardson, there is very little urgency to rush Bradshaw back, and with a unique injury like one to the neck, the push for a quick return isn’t there.

On the season, Bradshaw has 48 touches (41 carries, 7 catches) for 228 yards and 2 touchdowns. That is very solid production for a fringe starter, but in the world where Indy has Richardson on the roster, that is the most that anyone could reasonably expect from the former Giants RB moving forward.

Keep an eye on the official report once Thursday rolls around, but for the time being, it appears to be safe to assume that Bradshaw won’t be on the field against the Seahawks, and that is, frankly, the right move.
