According to Orlando Sentinel reporter Brendan Sonnone, Florida State junior safety Tyler Hunter is listed as day-to-day with a neck injury.

Hunter injured his neck in Florida State’s 54-6 win against visiting Bethune-Cookman on Sept. 21. The Georgia native recorded two solo tackles before leaving the game.

He reportedly received outside opinions on the injury.

“We’re trying to get second opinions to make sure everything is right in what we’re evaluating with what we’re seeing,” Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher said Tuesday. “It’s too important for the young man’s safety.”

In three games this year, Hunter has recorded 8 tackles, one interception and two pass breakups.

Florida State (4-0, 2-0 ACC) hosts Maryland at noon Saturday at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee. The game can be watched on ESPN.
