Thales Leites steps in to fight Ed Herman at UFC 167

Jason Silva-USA TODAY Sports

It didn’t take long for the UFC to find a replacement to fight against Ed Herman.

According to UFC tonight, submission artist Thales Leites has agreed to step in on short notice against ‘Short Fuse’.

Herman was initially slated to fight Rafael Natal at UFC 167 before Natal was pulled from the fight and placed into the main event of UFC Fight for the Troops 3 against Tim Kennedy.

Herman most recently defeated Trevor Smith in a fantastic ‘Fight of the Night’ performance back at UFC on Fox 8.

Leites recently took advantage of his second chance in the UFC by picking apart Tom Watson back in August.

This should be an intriguing battle between two Middleweight veterans.
