After Tueday’s round of games we are in for some incredible match ups today.
Shakhtar Donetsk hosting Manchester United is getting the top billing from FOX Sports network, they’ve given them the FOX Sports 1 slot. There is no arguing that Manchester United is an extremely marketable club but they should heavily over match Shakhtar Donetsk in this match up. The only advantage the Ukranian side have in this match is home-field advantage, which could level the playing field.
I think there is no arguing that the marquee match up of the day is the reigning Champions League winners Bayern Munich traveling to England to take on Manchester City. The English club won the Barclay’s Premier League just two seasons ago and are near the top of the table again this season. Bayern Munich is fresh of a treble, including a Champions League victory.
Not to mention, Munich has been to a lot of Finals in the past four years as well, they’ve just won once though.
The Real Madrid match would be fun to watch just to see what Cristiano Ronaldo does next, but no one is expecting FC Copenhagen to come in the Bernabéu and win. I thought their 6-1 win at Galatasaray would be a close match. Gareth Bale doesn’t look ready to play in the game.
