Utah Jazz rookie Trey Burke had a disappointing Summer League debut but should be getting things together since he’s now being mentored by legendary point guard John Stockton.
Stockton was one of those point guards that caused opposing teams fans to pull their hair out of their heads. He played almost 20 years in the league and spent all of them with the Utah Jazz. Pretty much through thick and thin, as they weren’t always the greatest team to take the court as a unit.
But with over 1,500 games played and 1,300 of them started, he’s scored almost 20,000 career points and had almost 16,000 career assists. All this knowledge of the game with all the stats and career highlights and awards, could all be handed down to the rookie point guard.
Burke needs to take advantage of the one on one time that Stockton is looking forward to investing in the young point guard. It’s not everyday you’re able to be mentored by one of the greatest point guards to have ever played the game.
