Arkansas State has scheduled a home-and-home series with Toledo, ASU athletic director Terry Mohajr announced Thursday.
Toledo will host the first game on Sept. 26, 2015, and ASU will host the return game on Sept. 3, 2016.
“We are excited to not only add a another home-and-home series with a strong opponent like Toledo, but also get a Mid-American Conference member back on our regular-season schedule for the first time since the 1990s,” Mohajir said. “While this doesn’t complete our future non-conference schedules, we were pleased to secure our season and home opener for 2016 with this contract. This is a step in the right direction as we continue to emphasize scheduling on a daily basis.”
ASU is already slated to visit USC and host Missouri in 2015 and visit Utah State in 2016.
Between the two programs, Toledo leads the all-time series 2-0 with wins in 1990 and 1992.
ASU (2-3, 1-0 Sun Belt) hosts Idaho at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Liberty Bank Stadium in Jonesboro, while Toledo (2-3, 1-1 Mid-American Conference) hosts Western Michigan at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Glass Bowl in Toledo.
